TEASER

The night had swallowed the whole campus in its darkness

Streets outside her window laid empty engulfed in silence..no sound of vehicle , no footsteps, not even the dog on the street outside was barking like he usually does every night on random strangers passing by

Just the relentless ticking of the clock in Siya's room could be heard , along with faint blow of wind brushing against the curtains of her window.
Though the backside of the campus was still visible faintly under the eerie moonlight glow from her tinted glass windows in her room

There was something unusual about the night....the darkness of courtyard was creating a sense of strange oddness all around the campus and the street on veiw from her window .
No movement was there only dark shadows layering over more shadows , streetlights were dimly lit

Siya was sitting on her old wooden desk gifted by 'her dearest dad ' absent-mindedly scrolling through reels and posts from her friends and classmates , her fingers loosely wrapped around her phone. Her eyes heavy and tired struggling to keep open after concentrating three hours straight on her boring assignments

She was about to fall asleep, her phone almost slipped away from her hands but just then..

Ring

Her phone rang breaking the quietness around her while her eye shot open flinching slightly from loud ringtone of her phone.

She sat up straight and a small tired smile formed on her lips as her eyes landed on the caller's ID

She picked up the call

"Still awake this late?....Don't tell me you're still stuck with this stupid assignment" Siya said while rolling her eyes playfully slightly chuckling

A pause

Then a fimiliar voice responded from the other side
"Come to your window"..the person's voice cut through her ears sharp , cold and emotionless

Silence

Her smile faded. " W-Window..?" She repeated while confusion was slipping into her tone

"Come to your Window" The person said it with unusual calmness this time that almost felt unnatural to hear

" But why??.. Don't tell me you're here at this hour?"
No response.

Siya finally got up from her chair and moved towards the
window . Her steps slow and hesitant , as she approached the window to remove the curtains her heartbeat grew louder each passing second.
She didn't knew why. This was too unusual for her like something is wrong

Her hands pulled the curtains to the side as her heartbeat increased to the max. No one was there , the street was empty, dark and quiet while the veiw of courtyard was giving chills down her spine as if she could sense something wrong

She put the phone back to her ears while a strange feeling developed inside her.

" I c-can't see anyone here" Siya said

"Look closely" The person replied while Siya observed the veiw outside closely gulping on her saliva. Her sleep long gone , she couldn't even feel her tiredness anymore.

" Hey are you playing some kind of stupid prank on me?? Not even a tiny single creature is visible to me let alone any human" Siya answered getting irritated

"That's strange... because I can see you". The person's voice came creepier than before

Siya's blood ran cold , she couldn't process anything at that moment.

Thud

The sound of her bedroom's door closing with a loud thud rang through Siya's ears. Her hands were shaking with fear. There was no wind , then how could the door close shut with loud sound?...unless someone closed it by their own hands. The thought raced through her mind , legs felt numb

She didn't had guts to check who was there , she thought of calling her father on his phone to check around the house . Just as her eyes diverted towards the screen she realised she was still on call with that person, but the line was silent.

She turned towards the window just to see .. A phone lying near her window on the street and in the darkness of the night , the phone's bright screen could be clearly seen

She moved forward looking closely on the screen of that phone only to realise that a call was connected , time showing 3:17A.M .... and the name on the screen was..

Siya
